And the year starts in the best way, with the opening of candidacies for the 3rd Edition of the New Women's Dramaturgy Award. This is an initiative under the auspices of the festival Esta noite grita-se and aims to promote, recognize and publicize dramaturgy by women in Portuguese.
The contest is open, until March 31, 2023, to all natural persons, of legal age, who identify as female, whether cisgender or transgender, and who want to propose an unprecedented and never performed dramaturgical work.
The winning work will be awarded with a monetary value of 750 euros, will be published in a book, through the partnership with the publisher Douda Correria and will be included in the 2023 program of festival Esta noite grita-se.

Maria Giulia Pinheiro was the winner of the 2nd edition of the New Dramaturgy Award for Female Authorship, with the work “isso não é Relevante”, in 2022. Lara Mesquita won the 1st edition, with “always I agree”, in 2021.
