The new production of Companhia Cepa Torta is coming!

Caixa de Questions is the theatrical street show that Companhia Cepa Torta will stage in the ruins of the ore wharf, at Mina de S. Domingos, in the year of MALACATE, on the 8th, 9th and 10th of June. It is a show that will feature the participation of many inhabitants of Mina and its well-known choral group, in addition to the cast of professional actors.

It will bring us a fable: in the middle of the 19th century. XXII, there is a village where a great mechanism called "sem-fim", source of prosperity and happiness of a people who always live in the present. In this great technological center, the days are the same, but none the less happy for that reason - you always live in the now. But on one of these days, always the same, the village receives a visit from a strange stranger who has a simple request to make them. From then on, nothing will be like before. Or rather, like now.

With text and staging by Miguel Maia, this is the biggest production of the MALACATE project and has mobilized several inhabitants of Mina de S. Domingos in recent months, in the different stages of research, creation, construction of costumes and sets and rehearsals.

The vast artistic team has been in residence at Mina de São Domingos for several months, preparing this creation with great enthusiasm and committed to making this a true participatory show. For this, there was a long period of research and, over these months, working groups were established with various members of the community, including the choir group from Mina de São Domingos, who very generously got involved in this creation, bringing their memories, expectations and mostly a lot of positive energy.

Now that the premiere is approaching, the rehearsals become more intensified and the nerves are already tightening, but we are all certain that this is already a won challenge and that the Box of Questions will remain in the memory of all those involved and of whom if you want to join us to watch the show that will take place in an incredible place - the ruins of the Cais do Ore of the Mina de S. Domingos mining complex and which will have a strong audiovisual component that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Admission is free (subject to space availability).
