The Vagabundas arrived at Mina de S. Domingos

The 2nd edition of the VAGABUNDAS artistic residency kicked off with the reception of the winning artists at Mina de S.Domingos, Mértola.

In the first days of May, the winning artists of the Open Call - Margarida Azevedo and Vera Santana - were warmly welcomed at Mina de S.Domingos. They were able to discover the most emblematic spaces of this place and the stories they contain, through the hands of our friends from Fundação Serrão Martins and had the opportunity to make themselves known and explain the projects they will be developing in Mina during this month to several people from community, who joined us at the Musical for a very lively end of the day.

There was also time for a tour of the inevitable Achada do Gamo with the artistic direction of Malacate , to get to know this incredible place and where some of Malacate's activities took place. There was talk about the past of this place but mainly about more recent events and projects that are being prepared to continue building new memories.

Now the artists will have the rest of the month to develop their creative projects immersed in this inspiring place and surrounded by the generosity of its people.

On May 30th, the Open Day will take place to inform the community of the work carried out during his residency.

VAGABUNDAS is an artistic creative residency, promoted by Companhia Cepa Torta, which aims to promote artistic creation in the feminine and at the intersection with the development of decentralized artistic work, particularly in communities with development and desertification problems.
